welcome to the sauna de la motta
coming this winter to fribourg: an open-air pop-up sauna in the legendary bains de la motta
come warm up your body & soul in a unique atmosphere, close to nature, in the heart of the city
experience the exceptional combination of finnish sauna in a mongolian yurt
unwind in a nordic bath with a view of the cathedral and forget the world
an unconventional meeting place, open to all
what to expect
two sauna yurts, heated between 70°c-90°c
two cold plunges
a relaxation yurt
a hotpot
a camp fire
refreshments
changing rooms, toilets and hot-water showers are also available
what to take with you
• swimsuit or fouta
• slippers
• 2 towels: 1 for the sauna, 1 for the relaxation zone
• optional (but recommended): bathrobe
forgot your swimsuit or your towel? you can rent towels and a fouta at the reception (towels: CHF.-5/piece,
fouta: CHF 3.-)
to be nude or not to be nude
the sauna de la motta is a public, mixed-gender space, where all should feel comfortable. therefore, in one of the yurts, it is mandatory to wear a swimsuit, whereas in the other yurt nudity is allowed.

by car:
there is (paid) parking available around the swimming pool (petites-rames, chemin de la motta)
disclaimer
visitors using the sauna and other installations do so at their own risk. if you have a cardio-vascular condition
of blood pressure issues, speak to your doctor before using the sauna.
